This weekend it hit me – summer has arrived at the beach in Lewes, Delaware. I was busy with clients all weekend long and we toured Lewes, Rehoboth Beach and Bethany as well as surrounding areas. I did find some time to get out and enjoy the wonderful weather before and after my appointments.

Gordons Pond Trail

Walking and Biking

Wherever we went people were out walking and biking. Everyone looked happy and the air was warm but soft and balmy. Early Sunday morning, I took a walk with my good friend Linda who is the President of the Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park. She showed me the brand new Gordons Pond Trail that extends from The Point on the Lewes side of the Park all the way to Rehoboth Beach. I’ll be back often on my bike or walking this beautiful new trail in Cape Henlopen State Park.

Kayaking

Then, on Tuesday evening, Bill and I joined a group from Delaware Paddlesports on their regular Tuesday night paddle. We have been trying different individual kayaks and I think this time we found just the right ones to purchase. If you are looking for a new kayak, Delaware Paddlesports will let you try a demo and credit the rental toward your purchase when you find the right one. This time, we left from the beach just below The Point and paddled around the Light House in the Delaware Bay and back. The weather was perfect, the Osprey were in their nests, the water was calm and the paddle was the best of the season so far.

Just a few of the things I love about living the local life in Lewes, Delaware.
