According to Kent County Tourism’s festival’s website, “Drink Local, Eat Local, Buy Local is the perfect theme for the fifth annual event that blends Delaware’s finest wineries, breweries and distilleries into one great event. Delaware’s “Official” Wine and Beer Festival, now in its fifth year and is a winner of the 2014 “Top 100 USA Events” by the American Bus Association. And, it’s the only festival in Delaware that offers all its vintners, brewers and distillers at one event.”

The Venue:
The event will be held in the scenic Delaware Agricultural Museum 19th Century Farm Village, aptly named Loockerman Village after the famous Loockerman family of Dover. An old farm house, school house, country church, a blacksmith shop and even a covered bridge make up the unique college in the village.

The second annual Delaware Homebrew Championship will be held at the Delaware Wine and Beer Festival, too! Boomer Brewers, according to the entry info, this contest is limited to 50 entries-10 per category and it’s not your ordinary competition…your entry is judged using the American Home Brewers Association guidelines and by the BJCP judges…PLUS attendees holding a VIP ticket, the ones that love to try new flavors, will vote for the People’s Choice Award winners. Admission includes 10 sampling tickets, are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The Delaware Wine and Beer Festival will start at 12 noon – 5pm at the Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village, located at 866 N. DuPont Highway in Dover, DE.

Part of the proceeds for this year’s event will benefit the Student Scholarship Fund at Delaware State University. Admission includes 10 sampling tickets, are $25 in advance and $35 at the door. The event will be held rain or shine. If rain occurs, the event will be moved inside the museum. There will be no refunds.
