Get Out and Get Local! is the encouragement you’ll hear from the Active Adults Realty team for anyone planning to retire and relocate to Delaware. We’re happy to show you the way.
You may guess things have been slow during a pandemic when you work in real estate. The truth is the market is hopping. Buyers continue to seek out great locations plus have interest in new construction. Sellers are actively preparing their homes for listing and working with their agent to host virtual showings.
Our clients from New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Connecticut often ask, “What is there to do here?” And some of our favorite replies include pointing them towards our Calendar of Events for some good ideas with the encouragement to Get Out and Get Local!
We are extremely busy at Active Adults Realty and I just haven’t had much time this year to do so many things I enjoy. I Love Lewes, as the recent marketing campaign proclaims. I also love Milton and Rehoboth and Bethany. I love going to Wilmington and Newark for some great curbside dining and entertainment offered there.
Ways to Spend Your Time After Moving to Delaware
If I were new to Delaware, these are some ways I’d spend my time:
Pickleball: First, I do make time to play pickleball a few times a week. But some of the people I play pickleball with play every day! And they still have time to go kayaking or exploring many of the parks that I have still not visited.
Walking & Yoga: I do yoga several times a week and I also walk at least 3 times weekly. Up and down the state you’ll find numerous walking trails to ensure you have plenty of opportunities to get into nature and see the sights. Whether you walk a trail in your community, beachside, or at a park, don’t forget to invite a buddy to join you and together you’ll make the most of your trek.
Theater & Arts: Yes, with enhanced cleaning practices the theaters are open! Plan to see so many of the movies playing at the Rehoboth Cinema Art Theater and performances at Clear Space Theater this season – like La Cage Aux Folles, Cabaret and Sister Act. Or, drive up to Wilmington for one of The Drive in Concert Series presented by The Grand at the Wilmington Riverfront.
This summer has been a challenge for all of us, but 2020 will pass and we will be able to once again enjoy all. Continue to check our Calendar of Events page for new events and news and be sure to subscribe to Locals NOW!—our monthly newsletter.
If you’re interested in community activities, ask us to visit some planned community living locations where you can take a look at the clubhouse and all the amenities offered to the community residents. Our agents are well acquainted with what Delaware has to offer to keep you as active as you’d like to be. We look forward to serving you soon. Don’t wait to reach out.
