Tips for finding assisted living facilities near the communities you want to reside in.
Are there assisted living facilities in communities near you? If you’re relocating to Delaware with elderly parents or extended family, this is important information to know. Many of our clients ask us about locations that will meet both their needs and the needs of one or more elderly parents. We published an article last year about How to Retire & Relocate When you have Aging Parents. Lately, we’re being asked more specifically about which communities are close to Assisted Living Facilities.
Making Your Home Near Delaware Assisted Living Facilities
Northern Delaware
Middletown has become a popular retirement location with a great choice of 55+ Active Adult Communities like The Ponds at Bayberry, Four Seasons at Baymont Farm, or Silver Maple Farm. At this time, there are no established assisted living facilities near Middletown but there is a nursing home/rehab facility—Cadia Broadmeadow.
Opening in 2021, Vantage Point is building an all-inclusive senior apartment living complex called Meadowcrest at Middletown.
Coastal Delaware
In Southern Delaware, we have many Active Adult Communities for our clients to choose from but only one has an Assisted Living Facility within the same neighborhood.
Vantage Point built The Lodge at Truitt Homestead offering 88 all-inclusive senior apartments. Schell Brothers is also building 90 single-family homes surrounding The Lodge with access to many of the amenities it contains.
Vantage Point also has plans to build The Lodge at Historic Lewes within the next two years in a prime location with easy access to the town, beaches, and shopping.
Several of our Active Adult Communities are within 15–20 minutes of either The Moorings in Lewes or Brandywine Living at Seaside Point in Rehoboth. They include Independence, Bay Crossing, and Four Seasons at Belle Terre.
Kent County
In Kent County, there are several smaller assisted living communities like Dover Place (north of Dover), and Milford Place, part of Enlivant communities. Champions Club is a very popular Active Adult Community in Magnolia, Delaware which is convenient to both of these facilities.
