AUGUST
August 3-4 – Riverfront Blues Festival, Tubman-Garrett Park, Corner of Water & South Sts., Wilmington
Come out for some outstanding live music where you’ll hear Blue, Jazz, Americana, Folk, Rockabilly, Rock ‘n Roll, Bluegrass, Funk, and Soul and so much more. This festival is a music lover’s paradise.
August 10 – Pawpaw Folk Festival, Blue Ball Barn at Alapocas Run State Park, Wilmington
Have you tasted a pawpaw? Here’s your opportunity. Join in with some folksy fun at the Blue Ball Barn. There will be music, storyteller fun, “down home” food, folk artists, and Pawpaw tasting.
August 17 – Delaware Taco Festival, Tubman Garret Riverfront Park, Rosa Parks Drive, Wilmington
Delaware’s 4th Annual Taco Festival will be held in a new location. Come out and taste over 25 of the areas’ best who are featuring their mouth-watering taco creations along with a massive tequila sampling tent, margarita bar, live entertainment, kids fun zone, & more!
August 24 – Paddlefest 2019, 39415 Inlet Rd., Rehoboth Beach
Paddlefest is a 4-mile creek kayaking excursion meandering through the salt marsh creeks of the park at Rehoboth Beach plus a shorter family/kids-friendly course. Along the way, park staff will be stationed on the courses to talk about wildlife, local history, and hand out snacks! There will be food, drink, music, kids’ activities, and a newly added after-party. Register for tickets here.
August 24 – Delaware Beer Wine and Spirits Festival, Delaware Agricultural Museum, 866 North Dupont Highway, Dover
This marks the 10th year for the festival which is known for featuring beer, wine and spirits tastings, meet the brewer opportunities, a mechanical bull, special demonstrations, food trucks, live music, outdoor games, special exhibits, guided tours of the Agricultural Museum.
August 25 – Autism Delaware Summer Beach Picnic 2019, Picnic Pavilion, Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes
Food, ice cream, fun activities, and the beach all in an autism-friendly environment. What could be better? Just for families of Autism Delaware. Please bring a healthy dish to share. There will be a small registration fee of $5 per family. Reservations made here.
SEPTEMBER
September 7 – 40th annual Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival, Bandstand and Boardwalk areas, Bethany Beach
Shop the more than 100 juried artists selling their handicrafts display along the boardwalk and bandstand areas. There are also street festivals happening in downtown Bethany Beach. It’s easy to spend the whole day here.
September 14 – Multicultural Festival, Silverlake Park, 200 East Cochran Street, Middletown
Join in the celebrations of the many cultures in our community through food, arts, culture, and educational materials.
September 14 – Festival of Color, Hudson Fields at 29763 Eagle Crest Rd, Milton
This is a first-time festival being held in Delaware. Anticipate colors, music, dancing, food and fun!
September 28 – Art on the Green in Historic New Castle, 3rd & South Streets, Historic New Castle’s Battery Park
This is the ultimate setting along the Delaware River for 200+ artists, crafters, and food vendors.
