Meet Jack and Linda Cloonan, of Millsboro, DE – Our Featured Boomers.
Jack and Linda Cloonan relocated to Delaware in July 2017, from Scarborough, Maine, where Linda was the Office Manager of a Pediatric Dental practice, and Jack, an FBI Agent and Crisis Managment Consultant. Together, they chose to move to the community of The Peninsula in Millsboro, DE.
The Cloonans had also considered moving to Wilmington, North Carolina, before ultimately choosing Delaware as their new home.
When asked how Delaware became their relocation choice, they answered that Delaware is retirement friendly, with a moderate climate and resort lifestyle of the coastal area.
The Cloonans decided to settle in the community of The Peninsula because they considered the community to be very well maintained, and thoroughly enjoy the amenities of the golf course, multiple pools, clubhouse, and beautiful setting. They found the housing options were varied and the selection process of both the exterior and interior features, was highly organized which helped reduce a lot of anxiety.
Jack and Linda enjoy golf, moderate exercise, volunteer work, reading, walking their dog Sadie (a Sheep-a-doodle), finding thin crust pizza, new music venues, a good French restaurant, and supporting local theatre productions.
The Cloonans look forward to enjoying the local lifestyle by taking advantage of the proximity to the beaches, exploring the Delmarva region, meeting new friends, and accepting the concept of aging in a relaxed environment.
Items on their bucket list include: travel (Portugal and Greece), attending the Kentucky Derby, visiting Nashville and the Grand Ole Opry, learning to putt better, kayaking, building a tiny house (Clayton Designer Series), buying a late model convertible and “babying it”, and staying healthy.
