What do you do at the beach in Delaware during the off-season?

First-time visitors often ask the above question about the off-season in coastal Delaware. They’re concerned that everything will shut down here in Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Bethany Beach and surrounding areas after Labor Day. We reassure them that no, there are lots of things to do year round. In fact, we locals most enjoy the shoulder seasons of Spring and Fall because there is so much to do and so many special events we look forward to.

Clear Space Theatre – Bill Bell and I have been excited to join the Producers Circle in 2017. The Producers Circle is an advisory committee of community leaders committed to ensuring a sustainable, year-round theatre company at the beach that also provides arts education for individuals of all ages and outreach to the community. Clear  Space has an active summer season featuring paid theatrical artisans but there are live theater and other special events all year long. This summer season was wonderful with performances including Chorus Line, Little Mermaids, and Legally Blonde. The fall schedule looks amazing with one of my favorites, The Fantastics from October 20 – 29, 2017 – Clear  Space Theatre

Coastal Concerts offers a Five Concert Subscription Series of monthly performances from October through April. The quality and variety of classical music presented is amazing for a town the size of Lewes, Delaware. Take a look at the 2017-2018 Season – Coastal Concerts

Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival

The special events really kick off in the Fall led by the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival. Those of you that have been following us for a while know that I met my husband and partner Bill Bell at the 2000 Jazz Festival. I cannot believe that was 17 years ago this October! The Festival runs this year from October 12th – 15th with special guests and local talented musicians at venues in Rehoboth, Dewey, and Lewes. Check the Calendar and we hope to see you there!

Sea Witch Festival

For you fans of all things Halloween, the Sea Witch Festival is the one for you. This will be the 28th Annual Sea  Witch Festival from Friday, October 27, 2017 through Sunday, October 29, 2017.

Bring the kids, don’t forget the pets and get ready for fun for the whole family. We all love a parade so get your costumes ready and learn more about the Sea Witch Festival.

Rehoboth Independent Film Festival

Save the Dates! November 2-12, 2017 is the 20th Annual Rehoboth Independent Film  Festival here in Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and the new Cinema Art Theater. The films are always amazing and we try to see as many as possible every year.
